The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, originally planned as a one-year special edition in 2021, was so successful that it returned to production in 2023.

Despite some dissatisfaction from original model owners who expected something truly exclusive, Dodge decided to keep manufacturing the superpowered SUV. In 2026, it will mark its fifth production year (fourth consecutive), proving there is still strong demand for the model.

For the 2026 model year, Dodge kept the Durango GT with a V6 engine unchanged in price, while the Durango R/T with a V8 engine received new wheels and the Tow N Go package as a separate option. This package, which includes performance enhancements and towing features, has accounted for 25% of sales in certain periods, justifying its expansion in the lineup. Additionally, the R/T now offers the Blacktop Redline appearance package, with distinctive wheels, sporty stripes, and red stitching inside, also without a price increase.

Even though the Durango design is already 15 years old, it remains relevant for Dodge, especially as newer models like the Hornet and the new Charger without a V8 engine face challenges. The SUV continues to be a profitable bet for the brand, with development costs already amortized and a loyal customer base, especially for the Hellcat version, which keeps its appeal among enthusiasts.
